Sadly nowadays in a lot of marriages, roles reversed. Wife wear the pants, want anything, poor husband must do.

wife, we must respect.
Wife, we must also show them who wears the pant in the house.

Outside act beng, go home ganna henpecked. Phui.
Not say henpecked or not, but its mutual respect. But its tradition that the spouse follow the husband's family in terms of surname, ethic race and lifestyle. Not they marry us and we follow their surname, our kids become vietnamese and we stop being chinese and lifestyle become totally vietnamese. My family take vietnamese food sometimes, but mostly chinese food. I tell my kids they are chinese, not vietnamese. And I manage household expenditure, not my wife. I still remember till now the super guan lan MIL face when she tell my wife to tell me to let my wife handle my money and i told her NO. I told my wife i hold post graduate degrees in finance, i will manage finances better.
