Exactly- as I remembered more than half the road to the Underground river was unpaved, and like in Peurto Galera, it was a mud bath / drive through mud .. in fact our 4 WD Toyota Van was sliding around in the mud .. that was a couple of years ago.
I guess nothing much would have changed, in 2 years, knowing Philippines (and affirmed by my recent foray into the Mountain Province - out of the 120 KM roads, about 30 KM are under repair / no roads exist, being washed off in the last storm a year ago .. )
If you are looking to do other stuff in PP, go ahead -you can choke a stay in Dos Palmas (don't ask me why it is so popular
) or head to El Nido ..
