It depends on how u are brought up and individual thinking. Most Asian are brought up to take care of their parents.

If wife is working, wife should provide a monthly allowance of about $100-200 to her parents depending how much she earns and if wife is not working then husband should help wife to provide to her parents. Yes, living in SG is difficult, everything is money but 50, 100 or 200 is not huge sum.

Unless parents in law are demanding a lot and always then we have reconsider but end of the day a small sum of allowance is filial and also thanks them the hardship for bringing the daughter up.

Anyway, there is always different views, the more selfish is "my parents is mine n her parents is not mine."

End of the day, it is individual life... to give or not to give..
