Im gonna enter the working world soon hence this thread on civil service on interests me.

Can I ask for civil service (same as govt jobs right) generally have work life balance? I was surprised to see TS mentioning replying to chat groups after working hours?
How about private sector?
Is there any "deep seated cultural" stuff or pretty much anything that you think I should know before entering the workforce? I will appreciate any response.
