Haven't wrote for a long time,
but this happened to me on a trip a few months back in Beijing (i have changed some names/ events).

I was alone for a short trip to BJ. Was quite grumpy as the weather is hot and dusty, and I hate fighting the jet lag.

Anyway, it was my first time to BJ in a while, and I was suprised at the developments there. (there are 7 rings now?) as well as the chio-ness of the girls (getting taller and more fashionable).

My company has an office in Wang Fu Jing, and I was taking a much needed break at the starbucks at the basement and was queing up for coffee when my phone rang. I took the call in English and as it was some problems at work I had to speak quite loudly thus irritating some tourists in front of me who gave me a glare (why! chinese cannot speak good english meh!)
Anyway, when I got off the phone, I realised that behind me in the que was this gorgeous giant of a girl. Standing at 174 (my height too!), she was dressed in a jeans skirt as well as a mango top with big eyes and long hair and she was looking at my phone with curiosity. (not me unfortunately).

unfortunately, it was my turn at the casher, but thanfully, the starbucks system meant that we could stand around while waiting for our drinks. while having our names written on paper cups!

it was then that i found out that she was called (lets call her) Annie, who was 24 and from a northen city who had been living in BJ for 4 years and made her living modelling (i turn green at this!).
she said that my english was quite good, and she thought that i was an ABC who didn't know how to speak chinese (see chinese is important!).

anyway, at this point, the coffee came, and my boss called me again, so i had to run off, and stupidly forgot to get her phone number!

i glumly went back to work.
work took up the entire day and i soon forgot about her.
