Attitude of singapore press
Recently,we have the sex scandal of the underaged FL,but the reporters and photographers seemed to be getting some attentions too.I heard today one of the accused has been mobbed by the reporters all the way from the sub court to the lawyer's office at 'The Central' as the accused put on mask to hide his identify.Eventually, they can get the photoshots from the police and put it in the newspaper to shame the accused and to complete their job,why go all the way as to hunt people like dogs?

Re: Attitude of singapore press
I fully agree with you that they are too much. These reporters should reflect on their behaviours. Is there case worth so much attention or are they trying to distract the public attention using this case?

Re: Attitude of singapore press
The press is obviously not independent. They have probably been instructed to photograph and sensationalize the entire thing. What the government doesn't realize is that some of these people were their own people. Those they have groomed for high office. Its actually a slap on their own faces. How foolish!

Re: Attitude of singapore press
If ever any of our samaster here face this kind of situation and faced with reporters chasing u to film shot u.... What will u do??
For me, I will rush towards the reporter, snatch their DSLR and then slam it against the floor and walk off.... This is intrude of once personal privacy by shooting others..... How come the law allow such things to happen?? What will happen to me?? I will openly challenge the reporter, even if they have the whole media/press company to support them fully, but this is not any freedom of press but an invade of once personal space.... Dear Law Minister, May I know if I take my DLSR and openly photo-shooting at other strangers cum pretty girls in front of a bus-stop or train station, it is a crime or offence?? Please advise if any of you government law-regulators here reading this post.... I bet u will say it had been a long practice since Singapore independence and therefore it is too wide an area to justify this matter..... My reply: Fuck you...... Becoz u r just trying to get some special news to cover or minimise the damage the media/press is covering now on our cash-cow train system's breakdown issue.... Why the reporters had not been chasing down LTA CEO or SMRT former CEO (that Saw lady) to press them for more answers or photo-shooting them outside the high court?

We have seen enough underage sex fiends brought to justice all these years but this is the first such sensationalise case that involve so many rich, famous and elite circle. Is this a case of loss of face whereby elite fight elite over business, girls or pride and thus abuse the law, abuse the system and abuse the police connections to seek revenge ? |

Re: Attitude of singapore press
Only 48 names released. Maybe got bigger names coming out and as time goes by , since it's already hot news so when bigger names from larger agencies out will die off...
Better back track on those big figures who has resigned recently from big firm . Hmmm..

He was suppose to be promoted to BG after NDP. My friend from MINDEF says when government senior officials resign for 'personal reasons', it means they had got into some sort of trouble with discipline or the law. But must still give face to let them go in honourable fashion. The government feel the treatment for indiscipline by government senior officials cannot be treated in the same manner as normal citizens in the eyes of the law thus the Hush Hush method to step down quietly. Many PAP MPs step down after one-term in Parliament is due to this reason but ST, CNA, Wanbaos etc will play it down. MSM only interested in negative news of WP like Yaw Shin Leong and blow it up for months. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/mystery-sur...signation.html Mystery surrounds the sudden resignation of the chairman of the National Day Parade (NDP) organising committee, Colonel Nelson Yau. In a statement to Yahoo! Singapore on Monday, Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) said that the Chief Guards Officer and Commander of the 21st Division is resigning from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) due to “personal reasons”. The abrupt move by the high-flying army officer comes less than five months before this year's NDP parade which celebrates the nation’s 47th birthday. According to Today newspaper, Yau, who is in his mid-40s, announced his resignation to key members of the NDP executive committee last Monday. There was no media announcement from MINDEF, however. While news of his sudden departure has prompted speculation, The Straits Times (ST) reported that Yau is not under investigation by the SAF for any wrongdoing. The senior army officer has been with the SAF for over 20 years. Said MINDEF public affairs director Desmond Tan, “The SAF will be appointing a senior officer to take over the Chief Guards Officer post. The new Chief Guards Officer will also take on the responsibility of being chairman of the NDP 2012 executive committee.” At press time, it’s not known whether Yau will be required to serve the stipulated three months' notice which senior SAF officers have to give when they resign. |

Re: Attitude of singapore press
I heard that there's a certain truth about our ex-president being involved in the Japanese Secret Police Force a.k.a Kempaitai during the WWII. No reporters went to great lengths to dig it up or their hands kena stopped by SPH's ex-boss who is currently OUR president?
