Re: Niteworks by Herbalife

Hi all

Any bro here take this supplement?

I had a heart attack a few months back due to blocked arteries. I was recommended this supplement by an acquaintance. Supposed to be good for the heart, improve blood flow throughout the body etc etc.

But, as this is a MLM product (no prejudice here though) and he's a salesman by trade (and a very persuasive one too), I'm a bit skeptical of the health benefits. He even go as far as saying that it's helpful for those with ED.

Googling also shows both positive and negative comments. So, if anyone here is an active consumer of this supplement, I would like to hear from you.

Thanks for reading.

Don't waste your money.

If you want a healthy cardiovascular system, 20 minutes of robust exercise 5 times a week is all you need.

Get clearance from your cardiologist and if he gives you the all clear, start this regimen.

http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-li...g/art-20044588

There are many other benefits one of which is boosting testosterone levels naturally which will do wonders for your sex life too.

Everyone wants a magic pill that will make them healthy but nothing beats a bit of hard work and effort. In life, you get out what you put in.

Re: Niteworks by Herbalife

Rev up your workout with interval training

Interval training can help you get the most out of your workout.

By Mayo Clinic Staff

Are you ready to shake up your workout? Do you wish you could burn more calories without spending more time at the gym? Consider aerobic interval training. Once the domain of elite athletes, interval training has become a powerful tool for the average exerciser, too.

What is interval training?

It's not as complicated as you might think. Interval training is simply alternating bursts of intense activity with intervals of lighter activity.

For instance, if your exercise is walking — if you're in good shape, you might incorporate short bursts of jogging into your regular brisk walks. If you're less fit, you might alternate leisurely walking with periods of faster walking. For example, if you're walking outdoors, you could walk faster between certain mailboxes, trees or other landmarks.

What can interval training do for me?

Whether you're a novice exerciser or you've been exercising for years, interval training can help you jazz up your workout routine. Consider the benefits:

You'll burn more calories. The more vigorously you exercise, the more calories you'll burn — even if you increase intensity for just a few minutes at a time.

You'll improve your aerobic capacity. As your cardiovascular fitness improves, you'll be able to exercise longer or with more intensity. Imagine finishing your 60-minute walk in 45 minutes — or the additional calories you'll burn by keeping up the pace for the full 60 minutes.

You'll keep boredom at bay. Turning up your intensity in short intervals can add variety to your exercise routine.

You don't need special equipment. You can simply modify your current routine.

Are the principles of interval training the same for everyone?

Yes — but you can take interval training to many levels. If you simply want to vary your exercise routine, you can determine the length and speed of each high-intensity interval based on how you feel that day.

After warming up, you might increase the intensity for 30 seconds and then resume your normal pace. The next burst of more intense activity may last two to three minutes. How much you pick up the pace, how often and for how long is up to you.

If you're working toward a specific fitness goal, you may want to take a more scientific approach. A personal trainer or other expert can help you time the intensity and duration of your intervals — which may include movement patterns similar to those you'll use during your sport or activity — based on your target heart rate, the ability of your heart and lungs to deliver oxygen to your muscles (peak oxygen intake), and other factors.

Does interval training have risks?

Interval training isn't appropriate for everyone. If you have a chronic health condition or haven't been exercising regularly, consult your doctor before trying any type of interval training. Recent studies suggest, however, that interval training can be used safely for short periods even in individuals with heart disease.

Also keep the risk of overuse injury in mind. If you rush into a strenuous workout before your body is ready, you may injure your muscles, tendons or bones. Instead, start slowly. Try doing just one or two higher intensity intervals during each workout at first. If you think you're overdoing it, slow down. As your stamina improves, challenge yourself to vary the pace. You may be surprised by the results.

I had actually shown my cardio doctor the product label and his opinion is that there is no "clashes" between this supplement and the medication that I'm taking.

I also want to start on the exercise routine, but I'm now getting heavy breathing even by walking slightly faster a bit. Already had a stent in one of my arteries when I had the heart attack last March. That's why I'm looking at diet plus supplement to improve things a bit before starting the exercise routine. Now the only exercise I do is aligning 2 mrt stops away and walk the distance home. Haizzzz...

A supplement, if it does work, which I doubt, will help you improve 2% to 5% max.

Exercise, once you have the all clear, will double your fitness and dramatically reduce your chances of having another heart attack.

Since u say he is a salesman. Which salesman will say he is selling a lousy/bad product? I have tried other herbalife products b4 for a few months n it work fine. I have a frd working at herbalife for few years oredy. Maybe i can check with her is there such cases b4?

Do not rely fully on any health supplements. They may help to improve ur health. Start those lighter exercise regime 1st. As time went by, then u can slowly add on more when ur heart able to take it. Take care.

Re: Niteworks by Herbalife

My mom is a senior herbalife affilate, along with other MLM networks like Amway. I've handled the product before. At is core, it is a L-Arginine, L-Citrulline product, with some other trace vitamins added in.

It is supposed to be marketed in 3 ways apparently, but it mostly revolves around the increase of Nitric Oxide (NO) from Arginine and Citrulline. They teach you this as part of the training.

1. Marketed as a sleep aid based on the premise that increased NO leads to an increase in Growth Hormones (GH) during sleep for restfulness and anti-aging effects.

2. Marketed as a heart aid due to the increase of Nitric Oxide

3. Marketed as a sexual aid due to the pro-erectile effects of increasing NO.

I can say that consuming large amounts of Arginine and Citrulline does give a boost in erectile function only in a vascular way. E.g. more blood flow, warmer maybe thicker erections. If your erections are weak due to a non-vascular cause they won't really help.

With that said, you can buy L-Arginine and L-citrulline from any supplment store, or even cheaper for dedicated supplement websites like I-herb.com. MLM companies like to claim that their supplements are formulated superiorly, or are organic in nature. This makes sense for things like multivitamins where many OTC brands tend to have half-fuck forumulations. But for synthetic compounds like Arginine and Citrulline you don't need to spend big.

One caveat: The pro-erectile effect will most likely last a few times before you see diminishing returns. Your body is a closed loop and neurotransmitters, just like hormones, will down regulate accordingly in the presence of abnormal elevation.

Re: Niteworks by Herbalife

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...-exposure.aspx

All the NO you need..swimming in the morning(my personal opinion). The link will tell you why. Including oral NO is not really effective and why. Also, lack of Vitamin D links to heart attack and Vit D is obtained when we expose ourselves to sunlight. Btw Vit D is fat soluble, meaning fat absorption is REQUIRED in order to absorb vitamin D(meaning you need to eat meat la) Also, yup I think interval training is good idea.

I have a friend (mid-50s) who suffered a heart attack etc 5 years ago. Since then he quit smoking. I didn't ask much - but he showed me a small pill which he always carry with him : nitro-glycerin (the same stuff in TNT) ! He said that in the event he goes into a heart attack - he was advised to immediately take the pill - would buy him precious time for him to call the ambulance and be sent to ER.

I'm carrying a bottle of such tablets too. Commonly known as GTN (whatever it refers to..).

I'm supposed to pop 1 tablet under my tongue if I encounter heart attack, a second one 5 min later if it doesn't help. Then go A&E after that.

Fortunately, I hadn't had to do it yet.

GTN

Many heart patients that I know use this as their version of Viagra. They will pop one 30mins before sex and it works just like Viagra.
It is a well kept secret that is known to mainly heart attack survivors and it costs only a fraction of the blue pill.
Here in LOS..... heart attack survivors have turned to using Sidegra in place of their heart medications as it is much more cheaper. Sidegra is the Thai version of Viagra.

So I think medication for the heart and the dick share similar properties.
Any doctor here can enlighten us?

it's nitroglycerin - a poison , used as a last resort for heart-attack patients. A viagra substitute ? Now that's dumb.

I've never taken Viagra or Nitroglycerin.

If you need chemical assistance in order to function sexually, then there is some underlying problem which is far more serious than not being able to get it up.

Viagra was developed for for angina and pulmonary hypertension, and the stiff dick was a side effect. So they started marketing it the other way!

Never tried nitrogylcerin or poppers. Anyone wanna trade some for some viagra and cialis?
