Really? Lost in reading. I know J's wife is the worst. Raped by so many guys over 8 years. I think she has to attend each trial as a witness.

Why the lawyer never cross examine and ask why she did not make a police report? Because she knew what was going on? And being raped for 7 years and never knew what was going on? So what changed her decision? This is called incomplete dossier in indonesia, where the case will be thrown out by the court.

The judge must ask this question even if they plead guilty, its due diligence of the court and if she cannot answer then judge must reject the guilty plea of the defendants and put a trial date for cross examination

Also if rape case, must have a rape kit, with semen evidence, hair sample, blood samples, without all these how can the judge accept in the guilty plea? This will never happen in indonesia

The defendant lawyer might ask this question to try to bring down the credibility of the victim, albeit, I would say its a weak defence, but the fact that the accused is charged, means it has gone through the proper legal formalities of a report, being charged, AG, arrest, Courts etc...

I would say with so many men charged, and videos obtained, evidence from various parties, text, I don't see an issue of evidence at all.

Since this is Singapore we must go to what is stated in the Statute for Singapore, please look at what it takes for the prosecution to prove rape. Examine mens rea and actus rea.

And since there is a conviction of a Penal Code offence, there is a fulfillment of the doctrine of proving beyond reasonable doubt. So your statement to doubt the process, actually will be a contempt of court.
