Good luck! It took my friends approximately 10 months to get fiance visa to USA. Even though their girlfriends had legitimate jobs, due to Sept. 11 situation, they had difficult time getting fiance visa. They even had to hire a lawyer for $3,000.

How and where did you meet your wife? My friends met their girlfriends from hotel and MBK. I hope, when I retire in Bangkok, I can meet an attracitve girl from California WOW, since I workout 5 days a week. Whenever I workout in California WOW, I only see very young or old ladies workingout, not the age group I want to meet!

Just wanna share this funny incident. Was in Zouk with a friend during early March, my friend manage to chat up 3 Thai gals. During conversation, (they speak English), understand that they are here for tour. 1st thought that came into our mind was, must be some WL being 'bao' by customers to accompany them here. Anyway, 1 of them quite pretty and my friend manage to get her Thai no. Wanted to send them back when party ends, (my friend show this 'kind' gesture cause he wants to show the girl he owns a BMW 325Ci, thought is will increase his chances of getting her) but they decline...

Anyway, don't know what when on between my friend and the pretty Thai gal, but during a 3 days trip to Bangkok in April, she came to pick us up in the airport with a BMW 745Li... The most scary part was, we went to RCA on Saturday, and when we finish, the TG brought us to a place to eat supper (seafood, around 10min drive from RCA), coincidently, her brother, (don't know biological or not, dare not ask) was also there and he drive a Orange color Lambor Gallardo!!! The gap between the poor and the rich is real huge...

If get this type of family background girl as wife, sure got no problem Now my friend still trying hard... I sincerely hope he can get her so I can have more excuse to go Thailand...

From what I've noticed (based on my very limited experiences with a Thai female; this is by no means an attempt to stereotype but more of a modest insight into how cultures could seem the same but so different in a subtle way):-

- Thai females are generally more conservative than their Singaporean counterparts. WLs not withstanding (where they are inclined to throw phrases like "tirak" and "Darling" around like confetti), the average Thai female is less inclined to be verbally expressive. "I miss you", "I love you" and "I really like you" is idle talk and they would rather prove it (or have you prove it to them) in action in showing their affection. It works the other way too - if you say too much of this to them it becomes meaningless.

- Thai females can unbelievably accommodating and this trait often leads to the wrong kind of assumption. Singaporean men are used to cowering in shame in the face of a golden pussy (in the shape of a Singapore woman) and they just aren't accustomed to a girl treating them nicely ("just because they're like that" doesn't register as a legitimate reason). This can quickly degenerate into awkward sexual feelings or even love.

- Thai females love their families and have (to Singaporeans anyway) a seemingly uneasy relationship with their sisters. They love their sisters. They can be living under the same roof with their sister 24/7 but you'll be surprised at the endless number of topics they're still able to talk about after only a few minutes separated from each other. They'll call each other incessantly to find out their whereabouts and proceed to spend an hour over the phone discussing about what happened 10 minutes earlier. This is all too strange to the average Singapore man, who would avoid eye contact with their siblings whenever possible to minimize verbal (or physical) confrontation, especially if they stay in the same home.
