Changing Job can be fun too

Job Hopping
Had a switched of job recently, and had to move from far east to far west… Perhaps the higher salary and better prospect that tempts me from leaving the previous workplace of 8yrs. Or perhaps the not so old, decent, and kind of slutty new boss, Jaclyn that attracts me…

However, things were not going that well for the first two weeks. Made some minor mistakes and got reprimanded by Jaclyn. Colleagues too told me that for the position which I’m holding, in the past, none worked longer than 3 months. For the past one year, I’m the 6th that holds this position. I was like ‘Ah… Am I choosing the right choice in quitting my previous company and joining this?’ However, I’m one who don’t give up easily. Hence decided to stay on and sees how it goes…

For the next one week or so, I forced myself to wake up early to come for work due to that my workplace and home has some distance. I reached office at 8 instead of 8.30 which my official working time, and off work at around 7pm instead of 5.30, to learn more stuff before and after my work. What’s most weird that Jaclyn told me that my performance bonus (which will be given out every 3 months) is base on how much I help company in saving… Luckily that during this period of time, my relationship with supplier and forwarder have gone better. Even one of the supplier who’s popular in ‘demanding’ and ‘fierce’ become good friends with me, and even given me better rates which they had never done before. Jaclyn was really impressed because of this.

This particular day, I was late for work. When I stepped in, Jaclyn immediately called me to her room. My colleague hinting to me that Jaclyn was in bad mood for the day… ‘This time sure kanna butter again liao’ I thought to myself. However, brave myself up and knocked on her door before entering.

Me: I’m sorry.
Jaclyn: Sorry for?
Me: I know I’m late for work…
Jaclyn: Ok. At least you know.
Me: Sorry again.
Jaclyn: Don’t worry. Not calling you in to reprimand you due to this.
Me: Oh. Then?
Jaclyn: Take a seat.
Me: Ok. Thanks.

I sat down on the chair in front of her. From the point where I sat, can view her deep breast cleavage clearly. Perhaps she just gave birth some time ago, and is her first child, hence breast bigger?

Jaclyn: Here. This is for you.

She handover a letter for me. ‘Cham liao… Termination letter…’ I took over it, and opened it after she signaled me too. I took out the letter and after reading, was happy over it. Why? Because the letter is not a termination letter, but a letter of confirmation, plus increase of salary of course.

Jaclyn: Why your glumpy face just now? Thought is termination letter?

I nodded.

Jaclyn: Silly boy. So happy about it?
Me: Yes. I’m very pleased over it. But if not wrong, I not yet 3 months right?
Jaclyn: Yes. There’s almost another month before you reach 3 month probation. However due to your performance which helped company in saving up during this 2 months, we decided to confirm you right now, to let you enjoy the full benefits that company give.
Me: Wow. Thanks a lot.
Jaclyn: Hope you continue to keep up the good work, and to help company in saving money.
Me: Yes. I will try my best for it.
Jaclyn: Good. Oh yes. Another thing.

Jaclyn opened her drawer and took out something and handover to me. I took a look at it, and it was a Couple Spa Voucher of a particular spa.

Jaclyn: This is for you. You can bring your girlfriend for some time of relaxation.
Me: Oh thank you. But well, I don’t have girlfriend.
Jaclyn: Oh. Then bring your friend or sister or whoever you want.
Me: Well. Shall see how it goes.
Jaclyn: Ok. Better search fast as it expire at end of this month only.
Me: Oh. Ok. Will try…
After that, I left her room and headed back to work.
